i have a 56 gallon aquarium and i want to make it a saltwater tank, could someone with saltwater experience please help me to try to get started on the right foot. i have the tank a stand a canister and a HOB filter that together are can filter 120 gallon capacity i also have flora max as the substrate and i read that this can be used in saltwater as well but i kinda want a white substrate (what is a good substrate?) i have a 900 maxi jet power-head to circulate the water well. i know i have to add the proper amount of sea salt but is there anything else i am missing? if you could just provide a step by step setup method or a website that could help me along that would be great. Saab 93 diesel turbo hassle?

I have a Saab 93 - 2002 -128k the turbo wont kick in , Replaced 30k ago, i have double checked all vacuum' hoses EGR. valve was fine, cleaned MAP and MAF sensors, waste- gate goes up and down fine when rev- d , when i start from cold in the mornings the cel light comes on every time but goes out after a a slight rev 1800revs it also comes on if i take my foot of the trottle and let it roll in gear and goes out as soon as i press the throttle again If i change the vac-*** hose around on the actuator under the power steering fluid canister from left to right the wastegate stays on, it doesn't move as u rev it,and the car is back to normal it flies, it seems to keep the turbo open, one thing i noticed was when i did this the valve under the vacume pump on the inlet manifold dident move as much but it tried to it is not bunged up, any takers

I am 34 weeks pregnant, I have a ureteral stent and I've been having bad pain in my lower abdomen, Saturday it would come every 20 mins and last for about 10 mins, then got to where it was almost constant, but since then it hasn't been regular. People have told me contractions feel like the baby is balling up and your stomach gets hard, but that has been happening daily since 16 weeks or earlier, so that's nothing new. What do contractions feel like when you already have pain in the kidney area?? I've been having more watery discharge, but that's the only new thing besides this different pain. I know this is all jumbled so I'm sorry lol! Thanks for any advice.

When I had a flea problem I vacuumed all the house as you have already done, and bathed my cat, then I put some Frontline PLUS on took the cat out and then used a spray that you put in all the house and left with my cat outside for a couple of hours. I need to know if my husbands job is allowed to take away labor hours?

my husband works for a car care company. The manager recently told him that when he cant get a customer to agree to the work needed to fix there car, he will cut the labor time it calls for so that he can get the sale. 1988 ford f-250 351 windsor, dual tanks, triple fuel pumps. On the frame rail, in front of both tanks, but behind the high pressure pump there is a canister that allows both the tanks fuel and return lines combine into a single set of lines. I believe mine is restricting fuel flow and needs replaced. What is this part called? I have replaced the middle tank pump, high pressure pump, and fuel filter and am not getting adequate pressure at the fuel rail. I get more fuel flow from the intake line going into this canister than i do from the exhaust line on the canister so my only thinking is that its clogged. Any assistance is appreciated. Thank you.

I use a canister in my 75 gallon as well. It has always turned my water over enough times an hour to sustain my tank. Just watch them though, you have to clean them constantly. P0734 is a code for incorrect 4th gear ratio. When the trans controller senses a disagreement between the input/output shaft speed ratio it wants for the gear it has selected and what it's seeing it sets this. If this condition is detected three times the trans locks to 3rd gear limp home mode assuming there is a serious internal problem and 3rd gear is intentionally designed to be the running gear with minimal control functionality so you can get home with most failures present. When it's in limp home it will accelerate like a dog because it's starting in a high gear and will wind out at speed without upshifting to 4th. Basically you're driving a car with one gear. There is an overdrive switch in the system but it's the switch on the shifter to deselect overdrive (4th gear) when going up grades so the trans won't hunt gears too much. If that switch fails it will only prevent 4th gear if it shorts or won't block 4th gear if it's open. There is no overdrive sensor. There is a kick down switch but it's part of the trans. If one of the shaft speed sensors was acting up you'd have a different code for it in most cases. Almost all causes of shaft speed mismatch are an internal mechanical problem, probably a burnt clutch, or an internal electrical problem with the solenoid valves. It is very unlikely there is some cheap external quick fix for what it sounds like yours is doing. Sorry but I'd be back at the clown you bought it from pronto. It sounds like you have an internal hydraulic or clutch problem that is aggravated by temperature as the fluid and components heat up. The chance of this happening without their prior knowledge is next to zero under the conditions you've stated. Sorry but pretty much any of the incorrect ratio codes are bad news.

I don't know much about fish tanks, but it is possible that you need to change the filter. Inside of it there should be something you can remove and get all the crap cleaned off. In my experience, I just simply couldn't and am now wondering if they are supposed to be disposable. Those are your options, buy a replacement, or remove the sh!t yourself.

I have a 135 gallon tank with 2 Rena XP3 canister filters. I also have 2 Marineland Maxi-Jet 1200 power heads that converts to a circulation fan/ pump mode. A guy at a local pet store said that I can use the items that I have with no problem. Is this true? I don't mind the maintenance. I don't want to give the canister up if I don't have to. I've looked online and it also said that I would be fine. However, some are going away from this idea of the 2 canister and 2 power heads. Will it be safe to use the canisters instead of the wet dry system/ sump? Thanks for your time.

Aquarium Canister filter help!!?

I just bought a canister filter and it has these THICK green hoses for the intake and out put. The problem is the canister has to sit next to the 46 gallon tank cause the stand doesnt permit it to be under it. The hoses are thick and not pliable at all. Is there any way I can make them soft and more managable? Also can I swap out the intake and outtake of other canister filters. The ones I have are kinda flimsy and not sturdy?

It's pretty normal. I actually started to dilate at 34 weeks. The doctors didn't see any problem. My daughter was born on her due date. The pains are very normal in the last couple of months. I think that this action can definately turn people off and possibly offend them. Its fine to stress the importance of a formal or casual dress code, but actually telling the people in specifics to that degree is too far. Stating that formal attire is sufficient enough. My red eared slider turtles are going nuts?

I have 3 red eared sliders (used to have 4, it's a very sad story, tell me if you want to hear it) and they won't stop moving. mostly they swim against the glass, but sometimes they pile on top of each other and slam onto the bottom of the tank. We just cleaned the tank but it gets horribly dirty in less than 1 week because the turtles keep stirring up the "bad stuff" on the bottom of the tank. All day and all night I hear them slamming against the tank and stirring up the pebbles. you might think that the sound of rattling gravel is calming and natural, but if it is *this* loud and *this* frequent, it gets *this* irritating. Literally, they won't stop moving for 10 seconds. When I get near them, they "stand up" and pound against the glass even more. The tank is beginning to crack on the side and I can't find peace and quiet anywhere downstairs. I can even hear the turtles when I'm playing a computer game upstairs with the volume turned up. Just recently, today, I have not even heard the rattling stop for 3 seconds and the tank is extremely dirty. They did not even do this a few months ago. I think that the turtles go even crazier when I approach because they are so hungry. They probably burn tons of energy like this. We bought a new large canister of turtle food less than 3 months ago, and it's already half gone. I can't even think about adding more gravel because they kick it aside into a pile within 2 minutes. Too Much Discipline for my Pet?

You can become paralyzed if they mess up, and my friend just told me it even slows down labor! Everyone I know that's given birth and had an epidural says giving birth is unimaginably horrifyingly painful and getting the epidural is even more painful. Am I in labor? Help!?

I'm 18 weeks pregnant with twins and I think I'm in labor. I am feeling this severe pain in my back and the top of my abdomen, and it feels like I have the runs coming on or something, only it's a lot worse. The pain stops for a few moments, but it always comes back! What do I do? Am I in labor? There is also some brown and bloody substance coming from my crotch! What do I do? Will the babies be okay? Fluval 305 weak flow HELP?

I have recently purchased a Fluval 305 for my 40 breeder turtle tank. I have noticed that with the intake strainer on the intake tube the flow is very weak. So I removed the intake strainer and the flow was strong. When I woke up the next morning my gold chinese algae eater was not in the tank so I thought my turtle ate it or the Fluval sucked him up. I open the Fluval to find my algae eater still alive in the canister. So I need to have the strainer on to prevent this again but I noticed that the check ball is what seems to be reducing the flow . Has anyone tried to remove the check ball in the intake strainer and if so does this increase flow?

most cansiter filters have a little nobby that you can push up or down to make the flow into the tank stronger or weaker. Push the nobby in the direction that makes the current weaker. If you dont have one that has that, then you will just have to get a bigger tank or get a new filter.

I know we are giving them money my sister in law and her husband but I don't know how much to gift. Can anything make you dilate or efface?

I'm not asking about inducing labor. Just asking if there is something to help you dilate or efface. I've heard walking and squats help when you have allready started dilating. Is that true? Did walking help any of you? I went from .5cm to 1cm to 1.5cm in 3 weeks and I am 60 % effaced.I really don't want to go past my due date. I have horrible back pain and a bruised rib and other reasons why I wouldn't mind having the baby a week or 2 earlier. I am almost 37 weeks. The doctor told me that it's safe for me to have the baby any time now. And she recommended walking. I know some people will say that the baby will come when it's ready and everything, but I just wanna know what peope have done from experience and if anything helped. Any benefits from doing certain things in the last weeks?

Aquarium canister filter tubing..?

I read my canister filter has 3/4 thick tubing for the return and intake. I bought a filter off ebay and the tubing is VERY stiff and hard to place the intake on the tank properly cause the tubing wont flex. Where can I get different tubing cause this thick vinil tubes isnt working for me. Also the intake and return is rather flimsy. Can I swap them out with a intake and return from a different model canister as long as they are 3/4 size?

We got an 8 wk old kitten 4 days ago. My friend told me she noticed fleas. Vet confirmed it. All 4 cats were treated with Frontline Plus. I sprayed Adams flea spray all over the couches and beds and washed all of the bedding. Tomorrow I'm going to vacuum with moth balls in the canister as directed by a friend. Went and saw my doctor he said early labor?

Been having contractions all night long in my back for the most part. Baby is sunny side up and after talking to the doctor I'm going to try and not have a c-section if at all possible. He said labor can be long and difficult. Sat I was at 2 centimeters dilated and 0% effaced. Today when he checked me I'm now at 3 centimeters 30% effaced. I tried my hardest to take a short nap I was so tired. When I woke up I thought awesome! The contractions are gone wrong! Now they are getting stronger. Doctor said to walk and keep walking. I'm going to do the walking some more but any ideas what else I can do to help? I don't want to go to the hospital until I have too. Thanks

I work for a hotel and am required to wear a certain criteria of clothing, not items I would normally wear outside of work. Clothing such as pencil skirts, blouses and blazers. Very neat looking. How ever my employer does not supply a uniform or anything so I am left to buy these clothes myself. I have heard that you can get a tax credit for doing this but that it is not that simple and that the required work attire has to be along the lines of something like what a nurse or somebody would wear and that regular business attire does not qualify? whats a rule of thumb on cleaning your filter? i have a cascade 1000 hooked to a 55 gal and you cant see when its dirty cuz the filter casing is blue and the hoses are black. im familiar with tank maintenance but this is my first canister i cant use visual to determine when to clean.

I have a 55 gallon aquarium currently supporting two marineland 350 bio-wheel filters. I have had the filters for 3 years now and want to switch to a canister. I am currently leaning towards the Eheim filters. If I choose a filter that is for up to 160 gallons, would that be too much? How much over can you go and still be safe? My tank is FULLY stocked! Why do women get epidurals if labor is excruciating with or without it?

You can become paralyzed if they mess up, and my friend just told me it even slows down labor! Everyone I know that's given birth and had an epidural says giving birth is unimaginably horrifyingly painful and getting the epidural is even more painful. So why get the shot if it doesn't make labor any less painful and the shot itself is even worse??? Are there any other methods of numbing the pain? I can't imagine giving birth without an epidural but I'm actually considering skipping it after all I've heard!

75 gallon saltwater set-up help?

DONT USE THE FLUAL 350, listen, get your self the bio wheel filter, and a protein skimmer. there are your main filters. add water, then when its about 75% full add the salt and mix till dissolved. then about 2/3 days after its settled add your live sand. make sure its live sand so your tank can establish faster. then start addin rock the way you want it. screw the wave-maker. i would put 2 powerheads, prob 750 pgh. then fill up your water the rest of the way. from thier on just let your water go through its cycles and get water tests weekly till its ready. good luck buddy.

So If you are fitting a new filter to an old aquarium, you better get some used aquarium water, put it in a large bucket and leave the filter working like that, then after you do like 3 water changes you can insert it with the rest of the aquarium

How many fancy gold fish in a ..........?

I was very good and only bought 4 Fancy gold fish to live in my 50 gallon aquarium even though they're tiny at the moment. But I was in Walmart today getting popsicles and I always go look at the fish ( I shouldn't because I feel horrible for the poor things) and lo and behold they have 2 Panda Orada gold fish! Would it really kill my tank to have 2 more fish in it. I upgraded the filtration to a 1200 gph canister filter and I do water changes twice a week in most cases because I get bored. Bulging hand vein.. Please answer?

My left hand has this one vein tht will bulge more than all the others. It looks worse than my right hand veins! And its not even the whole vein it kinda bulges more in the middle then thins out almost like theres a lump from appearance but there is not bc it is soft.... The bath is 13 feet long with all the plumbing already there and all that is needed is the tile for the floor and shower area. I will be buying all the materials.

Pregnant and with asthma?

I just recently found out that I'm pregnant (less then ten weeks, approximately) and recently, my asthma has been flaring up. I have a canister of Albuterol, however, it's been so rare that I actually use it that it's expired. I don't have health insurance or a regular doctor, so I can't exactly ask for more. I've read around that Albuterol is safe to use during pregnancy, but still haven't talked to any doctor about it. Now my question is, if I'm having a hard time breathing, should I go ahead and use the expired Albuterol or try to make an appointment with a doctor? Please keep in mind that if I were to make an appointment at a hospital, it'd have to be county because of my lack of insurance, and it'd probably be at least two weeks away, and by then, I'll have probably passed out at work, lol. I'm 38 weeks now so being the baby is full term my doctor said I could pretty much have him any day now. My hospital is already 40 minutes away from my house and I'm wondering if I should chance a trip to my parents house 6 hours away for 4 days this weekend. I'm scared if I go down there and go into labor ill be stuck down there and be in a hospital with doctors I don't know and all that stuff. I've been having braxton hicks (what doctor said) so that makes me even more nervous. Have any first time moms gone into labor in their 38 or 39th week? im 35 weeks with my second and had 2 cups of it so far, the taste is vile and put me off drinking any more to be honest. sugar helps but its still not nice for me personally. my midwife said its safe to take from 34 weeks as it can take around a month to start working, it doesnt induce labour at all it just helps strengthen your womb to make contractions stronger/more efficient thought to shorten the second stage of labour. i dont know if it works as i never had any with my first, but anything is worth a try. you can buy them in tablet form too if you dislike the taste.

Help with buying air conditioning units?

We are looking to buy a new air conditioning unit, with everything included. We want the outdoor unit, and the coil, and whatever else comes for the inside as well. We are not really well prepared to shop right now, and any help is appreciated. The guy that might install the unit for us is asking for $3200 with the unit and his labor. The unit is a 3.5 ton 14 seer air conditioning unit. I don't know if this is a good price or not. 38 weeks pregnant and VERY bad pain in lower back that doesn't go away. ?

My wife is 38 weeks pregnant and is saying she is having lower back pain. It is a constant pain and isn't going away. It's been waking her up all night. She had contractions the other day and we went to the hospital and ended up getting sent home because the contractions weren't bad enough then. Now she is having these back pains that do not include any pain in her stomach at the moment. Is this back labor or is the baby on her spine or something?

Second pregnancy baby dropped?

This is my second pregnancy and I am roughly 34-35 weeks. I noticed that I had dropped or "lightened" yesterday. I never dropped with my first until I was at the hospital in labor. I am sure baby dropped because I can see toes again, my boobs don't sit on my belly anymore, I can breath, sit, sleep and eat so much easier. It feels like I am 6 months pregnant again! My question is does this mean anything to how soon labor will come? I've only read that for subsequent pregnancies dropping doesn't normally happen except right before labor. Anyone have similar second pregnancy experience and if so what was the outcome ?

Can't remove recessed bathroom bulb. Cover pulled down but can't see bulb, just a metal cone. Help!!?

Trim & glass part is pulled down. I can unclip springs from the canister but trim and glass is still fixed to the metal cone-shaped thing (similar to shape of a flood bulb, but not sure what kind is inside!). And then of course the top of the cone-shaped metal thing has wires to the ceiling. I do see a (porcelain?) socket at the top of the metal cone, so I'm sure the bulb is hidden in there. But how do I get to it safely?

Aquarium Canister filter help!!?

I just bought a canister filter and it has these THICK green hoses for the intake and out put. The problem is the canister has to sit next to the 46 gallon tank cause the stand doesnt permit it to be under it. The hoses are thick and not pliable at all. Is there any way I can make them soft and more managable? Also can I swap out the intake and outtake of other canister filters. The ones I have are kinda flimsy and not sturdy?

Some old canister vacuums have it, but it is just "BLING" . All vacuums I have tested out have 7 PSI suction if they were mobile units. Even workshop ones. I just consider that to be a hole in the hose.(or totally useless)

dont take all the media out, take one pad out and give it a good clean, its what i do with most of my tanks, i have two or three other layers, and i wash one or two out properly,then leave the others be, never had a problem. check the impeller, if a vane has broken, or it is clogged, that will cause a drop in flow rate. the other thing is to try to get as much air as you can out when you prime it.
