What is up with my filter?

Last Saturday i bought an EHEIM ecco canister filter for my 30 gallon aquarium. The first like 2 or 3 days that water was crystal clear, perfect. Over the week i noticed water quality decreasing now its almost been a full week and my water is DISGUSTING and cloudy. What do i do? :(
