Aquarium Filter Help...?

I recently bought a Marineland emperor 400 for my 46 gallon and its LOUD AS HELL! But it filters so good. In the extra media basket I put ceramic rings for extra bio filtration. I just cant take the noise. Should I just get 2 Aqueon 30's or a aqueon 55? I hear they are silent cause the motor is submerged. I have a Marineland c series canister but I have no where to put it. And if I use it, it would have to sit right next to the tank and I hear if its not below the tank the suction will suck. I need help! what to do? And please no one recommend Aquaclear. I hate them..
